The Balinese Dance by Naema

Out of all the Balinese dances, the Legong dance is the calmest of all. It is made of six dances (stories). « The welcome Dance » is danced by a group of girls making the same moves👯‍♀️. « The Soldier » is about a brave soldier who stops a battle. « The king and the Princess » is about a king who wants an unwilling princess (it is danced by three girls) . « The emotion Changer » is about a girl whose emotions change all the time. « The bumblebee Dance » is about two youths falling in love💘. « The old man » is about a man who has a brutish nature.

My favorite dance was « The Bumblebee dance » (Oleg Tambulilingan) because it represented, showed and explained a story while dancing. Also the dance was graceful and the dancers had colorful and awesome costumes. The girl had a beautiful headress on her long hair.

I also did a dance class at Pondok Pekak library with a Balinese teacher. I learned to dance part of the « Welcome Dance » on traditional music. At the end we threw flowers 💐 just like in the real dance. The stage looked like the real temple.
